Cala D'Or - Mallorca - Spain -
Once upon a time a tiny Mallorcan fishing village, the modern day seaside resort of Cala D'Or has not been spoiled by high-rise apartment blocks and hotels. Still retaining much of its original charm, Cala D'Or is popular with holidaymakers, many of who return every year to this beautiful little resort located on Mallorca's east coast.
The resort has about 4 kilometres of coastline, much of it consisting of small bays and coves, even the largest beach is small and does get rather crowded during the summer time, the largest beach is in fact called Cala Gran and it is around this beach that most of the resorts facilities are concentrated, you will find a decent selection of bars, shops and restaurants, and a lively if not frantic nightlife scene.
The area is good for water sports, and there are facilites for sailing, windsurfing, diving and also pedal boats for the less adventurous, golfers will not be disappointed by the nearby golf course at Club Vall D'Or. Stroll along the modern marina and you will spot some luxury yachts and cruisers, giving the resort an upper class feel, in fact it is a chic resort and many just come to relax and dine in waterfront restaurants.
Cala D'Or can be reached by way of the MA-4013, it is about 65km from the capital Palma de Mallorca and its airport.
