Palma Nova Mallorca Spain - One of the first built for tourism resorts to be established in Mallorca, Palma Nova is also one of the biggest, together with its neighbour Magaluf it has become one of the major package holiday destinations over the last 30 years or so.
Built around three fine sandy beaches, backed by the popular promenade 'Passeig Maritim', Palma Nova is a family resort with an excellent range of facilities. There are a good choice of hotels for your stay in Palma Nova and the resort is served by most of the major 'package tour' operators, if you prefer to assmeble your own holiday there is also a choice of privately owned holiday rental accommodation available, a quick search on the internet should provide a reasonable selection.
Keeping the children amused during a trip to Palma Nova should not be a problem as there a number of excellent attractions in the area, these include in Palma Nova itself the Golf Fantasia, a mini-golf course set amongst beautiful tropical gardens, close to the Bahia Palma Nova Hotel, in Magaluf you will find the Western Park Water Park, with both a water and wild west theme, Karting Magaluf for go-kart enthusiasts, the famous Pirates Adventure dinner show, Aqualand water park with its spine chilling slides and rides, and at Portals Nous you will find one of the most popular attractions on Mallorca, Marineland with dolphin, parrot and sea lion shows held throughout the day.
While staying in Palma Nova don't forget a trip into the capital Palma de Mallorca where there are plenty of places to visit including the fabulous cathedral. To find out more on the area you can visit the primary Tourist Office for Palma Nova on the promenade behind the Platja de Palmanova beach.
Palma Nova can be reached via the Ma-1 motorway from Palma, it is about 12km from the city centre and 20km from the airport, to the east of Palma de Mallorca.
