Lying on the Costa Blanca coastline some 10km south of Benidorm is the charming seaside town of Villajoyosa. Famous for its brightly coloured houses and for its chocolate, Villajoyosa has a name which means 'Jewelled Town'. Historically Villajoyosa has relied mostly on fishing for its economic survival, and fishing remains today as an important industry for the town - the bustling harbour and busy afternoon fish market are important features of the town.
