Penaguila - Penaguila is a tiny village on the slopes of the Sierra Aitana mountains in the northern Costa Blanca region, Spain.
Penaguila has a long and rich history and is particularly noted for its being given the status of a Royal Town, with voting rights in Parliament (unusual for such a small village). This privilege was granted after the village resolutely resisted a seige by Castillian forces in 1356.
Places of interest to visit are the castle, the Jardin de Santos with its beautiful fountain and the Hermitage del Seguro.
