Alcalali is an historic Spanish village dating back to the Arab occupation of Spain (8th to 13th Centuries). The village itself has all the necessary facilities to sustain daily living, and has a village square which buzzes with activity from its three local Spanish bars. The adjacent villages of Parcent, Jalon and Lliber offer more opportunities to sample the delights of everyday Spanish life. Whilst set in the quiet surroundings of the Jalon valley, twenty minutes by car will bring you to the bustling coastal resorts of Calpe and Javea, both boasting 'Blue Flag' beaches and promenade walks offering a myriad of eating places to suit all tastes, and for those so inclined, a lively night life.

Life in Alcalali centres around the village square and here visitors can find the 15th Century gothic tower which now houses the Museum of the Grape and the parochial church.
