Estepona

Estepona Spain -
Once just a small fishing village, Estepona has grown into a sizeable town and resort, best known for its superb sandy beaches. Located south of Marbella on the Costa del Sol coastline of Spain, Estepona has a resident population of around 60,000, it is somewhat quieter than many of its Costa del Sol neighbours and retains much of its old Spanish charm. Surrounded by the Sierra Bermeja mountains it enjoys a unique micro-climate, resulting in it experiencing around 325 days of sunshine per year, making it an ideal location for a family holiday any time of the year.
The charming "old town" still has narrow cobbled streets, reminding visitors of long past days, here you can enjoy a coffee in one of the local cafes or just maybe sit and watch the world go by in one of the pretty town squares. The marina located at the western end of the seafront promenade is a popular spot with visitors and is lively both during the day and night, due to its abundance of bars, restaurants and discos.
The main attraction for visitors seems to be the beaches, Estepona has 2 superb "Blue Flag" beaches, but also boasts some 21 kilometres of beaches in the area, so you should be able to find something to suit your taste. There are also some excellent water sports facilities and there are a number of golf courses in the area. Estepona is situated just off the A-7 (E-15) motorway, the nearest airports are Gibraltar (45km), and Malaga (80km).
