Torrevieja is situated on the N-332 coast road and is about 40 minutes drive from the airport at Alicante, Murcia (San Javier) airport is just 35 minutes drive away. Well known for the production of salt, Torrevieja has a good range of facilities and holds a huge street market on Fridays. On of its most popular spots is the seafront promenade and marina, there is also a daily craft market held here and a busy funfair. Also popular, is the Aquopolis water park which is only open during the summer school holidays (June to September).
