San Pedro de Alcantara: Located some 10 kilometres west of Marbella, on the Costa del Sol coastline of Andalucia, Spain, the town of San Pedro de Alcantara has a population of around 27,000 and is a quiet mostly unspoilt pueblo, which is becoming increasingly popular as a tranquil holiday destination for those wishing to be away from the glitz and glamour of Marbella and Puerto Banus.

A clean, well kept town, San Pedro de Alcantara has some smart holiday developments along its refurbished promenade area which runs along the back of some fine, wide, sandy beaches.

San Pedro de Alcantara is notable as holding the last summer Feria (fair) in Andalucia, an event in October which includes a bull fight in celebration of the Iberian culture. Defeated bulls are cremated on a ceremonial bonfire at the end of the day.

For golfers, San Pedro de Alcantara is a paradise, with numerous fine courses within easy driving distance of the town, among the fine golfing facilities are the Guadalmina Golf Resort, the Atalaya Golf and Country Club, the Monte Mayor Golf Club, the El Paraiso Golf Club and the La Quinta Golf and Country Club.

San Pedro de Alcantara lies on the main N-340 coast road and is about one hours drive from both Gibraltar and Malaga airports, it can also be accessed from the AP-7 (E-15) motorway.
