Map of Isla Graciosa - Canary Islands

Isla Graciosa - Canary Islands - With an area of just 27.5 square kilometres, Isla Graciosa is the smallest inhabited island in the Spanish Canary Islands. Lying of the northern tip of Lanzarote, Isla Graciosa has a population of just over 600, most of whom live in the village of Caleta del Sebo.

Worth a visit if only for the solitude, Isla Graciosa is popular with surfers, scuba divers and anglers. If you are looking for a very quiet beach, then Isla Graciosa could be just the place for you, fringed with long sandy beaches, some of the best in the Canaries, and very few people, it is something of a beach lovers paradise, especially when the weather is hot and sunny.

Perhaps the most attractive beach is Playa de las Conchas, a long sandy beach on the northern shores of the island, from here you can see the smaller islands of Alegranza, Roque del Este and Montaña Clara.

There are very few facilities on the island and accommodation is limited to a handful of ‘pensions’.

Isla Graciosa can be reached by boat from Orzola, there are 3 or 4 trips a day, depending on the time of year, the trip takes about 20 minutes, but be warned, it can get a little rough so may not be suitable for land lubbers. Use the map of Isla Graciosa above to see the location of the island.
