Elche Map - Above is a location map for the city of Elche, located in the Alicante province within the Communidad de Valencia in south-eastern Spain. The 3rd largest city in the Valencian Community, Elche is known as 'The City of Palms' due to its massive palm tree forest - the largest in Europe. Elche has some wonderful historic places to visit including the Saint Mary's Basilica and the Altamira Palace. Elche is renowned for its shoe-making industry and boasts over 1,000 shoe-making factories, so if you are looking for Spanish made shoes, Elche is the place to head for. Elche also has its own small stretch of coastline which includes the resort of Los Arenales del Sol with its superb sandy beaches. Also shown on the map is the city of Alicante, the resorts of Santa Pola and Guardamar del Segura, and the towns of Elda and Novelda. Elche can be easily reached from the A-7 (E-15) Motorway, junctions 73, 74 and 75, it is just a short drive from the airport at El Altet.
