Costa del Silencio (Silent Coast) on Tenerife's southern shores was one of the earliest built for tourism resorts on the island, living up to its name, it is somewhat quieter than some of its neighbouring resorts but still has plenty of bars and restaurants and some decent entertainment. Costa del Silencio lacks a decent beach and the nearest one can be found at neighbouring Las Galletas - a beach of black volcanic sand. The area is popular with watersports enthusiasts and attracts German, Belgian and British tourists. Costa del Silencio is ideally located just 12 km from the Reina Sofia airport.
Los Cristianos is located in the southern part of Tenerife, the airport (Tenerife south) at Reina Sofia is about 16km away.
