Sax trickles down a hillside in the Vinalopó Valley on the Costa Blanca, Spain, and is dominated and overlooked by its 14th Century Arab castle (Castillo de Sax). A well known town for the production of wine, it has been mostly an agricultural area over the centuries although it does now have some light industry including the production of shoes and leather goods.
Some interesting places to visit near to Sax include the towns of Novelda, Elche, Aspe and Crevillente, the seaside resort of Los Arenales del Sol and the fascinating Cuevas del Canelobre (Caves of Canelobre).
