The ancient and historical town of Mazarron is located on the southern Costa Calida just south of the city of Cartagena and is within the province of Murcia, Spain. The coastal area of Mazarron (Puerto Mazarron) is a popular seaside resort and has some beautiful beaches and excellent facilities, there is also some property development taking place as it is becoming an ever more popular place for a holiday home or for permanent re-location.

It is known that Mazarron was the site of settlement way back in the Palaeolithic Era, later the Phoenicians made use of its natural harbour and the Romans exploited the mining in the area. The Romans were followed by the Moors who built the castle and defensive towers.

Mazarron Spain has some interesting places to visit including the Veles Castle the churches of San Antonio de Padua and San Andres, the convent of La Purisma and the Sacred Heart of Jesus statue.

Mazarron is located just off the N-332 coast road and can be also accessed from the AP-7 motorway.
