Mazarron Map - The above map shows the location of the historical town of Mazarron on the southern Costa Calida in the Murcia province of Spain. Mazarron was settled as long ago as the Palaeolithic Era and was an important trading port during Phoenician times. The Romans also used the natural harbour at Mazarron and made use of the local mining reserves, exporting the resulting metals all over the Roman world. Puerto Mazarron is a popular holiday resort with many fine beaches and enjoying a wonderful Mediterranean climate. The ancient city of Cartagena is within a short drive of Mazarron and is certainly worth a visit whilst in the area, Aguilas lies to the south. The historical town of Lorca is also shown on the map and is an important commercial town for the region.
