Situated on the unspoilt Costa Almeria, inland from Mojacar and Garrucha, the Desert Springs Almanzora Golf Resort is Europe's first desert golf course and is in a stunning location with superb mountain views and desert terrain, the design is based on successful American models and is built to USGA standards.

The Par 72 'Indiana' course was designed by Peter McEvoy and opened in 2000, it has a playing distance of 6173 yards and is a challenging course with strategically placed hazards and bunkers. The fairways are wide and each hole different from another making it interesting and enjoyable to play. The innovative irrigation system keeps playing areas lush and green and is fed from a local reservoir, the fairways are lined with over 1 million plants and cacti from all over the globe.

The Desert Springs Resort offers excellent training facilities, which includes a video training lounge.
