The Costa Almeria in south-eastern Spain, is an area of unspoilt coastline to the south of the Costa Calida, it stretched for around 214 km from Adra in the south to Villaricos in the north, its main city is Almeria, which has a population of about 180,000. Almeria is a major ferry port with links to North Africa.
The Costa Almeria region has some wonderful unspoilt beaches and the area is as yet relatively unknown to foreign visitors, and has not yet bee ruined by the mass tourism which has hit much of mainland Spain and its island territories.
