Costa Brava Resorts - Tossa de Mar

Tossa de Mar - One of the prettiest of the Costa Brava ("Wild Coast") resorts of northern Spain, Tossa de Mar still has the remains of its medieval walled village (Vila Vella) which has stood guard over the bay for some 800 years. Even earlier than this the town was the location of a 2nd Century Roman Villa called Turissa and it is from this Villa that Tossa de Mar derived its name.

The 12th Century walled old town stands proudly on the southern headland and hangs onto its medieval charm, with quaint cobbled streets and charming stone houses adorned with pretty flower boxes.
