Costa Blanca Towns - Moraira Alicante
Moraira Alicante Map and Guide - Above you can view a map of Moraira, a popular coastal resort in the Alicante province of Spain. One of the least spoilt resorts along the Costa Blanca, Moraira is surrounded by mountainous countryside and is somewhat less accessible than some of the other busier resorts such as Calpe, Denia and of course Benidorm.
Originating from a small gathering of fishing villages, Moraira was formerly administered by the nearby town of Teulada. These days comprising mostly detached villas set amongst mature trees, it is an ideal spot for a quiet villa style holiday, and there are plenty of privately owned villas to choose from. Lying in a sheltered bay, Moraira is also perfect for a winter break, as it is protected from cold northerly winds and still enjoys decent weather. Its 2 main beaches both have 'Blue Flag' status for cleanliness and safety, and ideal for those seeking a beach style holiday.
Moraira Alicante is also a great spot for golfers, with the picturesque Ifach Golf Club situated near to the town, enjoying some spectacular views towards Calpe's Penon de Ifach rock, there are also other golf courses nearby. If you time it right you might also enjoy one of the local fiestas, amongst those celebrated are the Moors and Christians (June), the Virgen del Carmen (July) and the Fishermen's Fiesta (July).
Moraira is situated between Calpe and Jávea on the northern Costa Blanca about 30 kilometres from the huge resort of Benidorm. It can be accessed from the N332 coast road and from junction 63 of the A-7 motorway.
