The northern Costa Blanca town of Javea is one of the most popular resorts in the region with its lovely old port and fine sandy beach, Playa de Arenal. Javea enjoys some wonderful weather, with a warm Mediterranean climate comprising hot summers and mild winters, in fact Javea claims to have the most hours of sunshine of anywhere in Spain.
The average minimum temperature ranges from 16 degrees centigrade in January to a scorching 32 degrees centigrade in August (although temperatures can reach 40 degrees), and it enjoys a unique micro-climate making it a pleasant and healthy place to live.
