Cambrils Map - Zoomable road map of Cambrils a town and resort on the Costa Dorada, Spain. Still largely unspoilt by mass tourism the pleasant town of Cambrils is an excellent choice for a holiday on the Costa Dorada ("Gold Coast").

While Cambrils was settled during prehistoric times, it was not until the arrival of the Romans that organised society began and the population of the town started to grow. Remains from the Roman period still exist in the area including the Roman villa at La Llosa located beside the important Roman road, the Via Augusta.
Later on Cambrils was the port from which Jaime I sailed to conquer Mallorca and drive the Moors from the Balearic Islands. At around this time a number of defensive walls and watch towers were built to protect the local population from attacks by pirates.
These days Cambrils is a more peaceful place and has a growing tourist industry, which has not yet spoilt the atmosphere of the place. There are a number of wonderful golden, sandy beaches nearby and Cambrils is especially renowned for its fine seafood restaurants.
Cambrils can be reached via the N-340, or the A-7 motorway, it is about 9 miles from Reus International Airport.
