Bougainvillea Picture
Bougainvillea is a family of ornamental plants named after a French admiral Louis de Bougainville, who discovered the plant whilst visiting Brazil, South America. Nowadays a very popular ornamental plant wherever there is a warm climate, bougainvillea is a thorny, woody, climbing plant giving a dazzling display of bright colours. The main colour of the Bougainvillea comes from thin papery bracts which surround the somewhat insignificant flower. Bougainvillea is fast growing, relatively pest free and will flower all year round in a suitable climate.
