Beniganim is a small town with a population of around 6,000, the town and municipality is within the comarca (district) of Val d'Albaida in the Comunidad de Valencia. Beniganim has its own railway station connecting it with Xativa, Alcoy, Ontinyent and Albaida.

Beniganim is an ancient town which has been settled for thousands of years, in the oldest part, called the Penya Roja there are remains of an Iberian settlement and other ancient dwellings. Worth a look in Beniganim are the 18th century Church of the Purisima Concepcion, the 17th century parochial church of San Miguel Arcangel, and the Town Hall.
