Son Bou Menorca -
One of the popular south coast resorts of Menorca, Son Bou has the longest beach on the island, with about 3 kilometres of fine white sand, it has several beach bars and is gently shelving and thus relatively safe for families, however do keep an eye on the safety flags as strong currents can occur. On the beach you will also find plenty of water sports facilities, including canoes and pedalos.
The resort comprises three distinct areas, Son Bou itself plus Torre Soli Nou and San Jaime (Sant Jaume), about 2 miles away you will find a camping site (Camping Son Bou), which has some decent facilities and is ideal for families.
A well known 'package holiday' resort, Son Bou has a selection of hotels and holiday rental accommodation. Hotels in Son Bou include the Hotel Sol Milanos Pinguinos, the Aparthotel Royal Son Bou Family Club, the Aparthotel Jardin de Menorca and the Hotel Apartmentos Valentin Son Bou.
Places to visit in and around Son Bou include the 5th century Christian Basilica, beside the beach in Son Bou, the town of Alaior, and the capital of Menorca, Mahon, a famous deepwater port and former HQ of the British Navy in the Mediterranean.
Son Bou can be accessed from the ME-1 to the north of Alaior, the International Airport for Menorca is located about 22 kilometres away to the south-east of Son Bou.
