The pretty village of Frigiliana is a popular tourist hot spot, situated just 6 km inland of Nerja, its charming cobbled streets and peaceful squares attract many visitors each year.
This weather also applies for the nearby towns and resorts of Nerja, Motril, Torrox Costa, Torrox, Salobrena, Cómpeta and La Herradura. Well worth a visit, Frigiliana has previously won the "Prettiest Village in Andalucia" award, and is the location of regular excursions from nearby Torrox and Nerja. Its lack of the traditional castle is explained by the fact that it was destroyed by Christian troops while expelling the residing Moriscos during the sixteenth century.
Frigiliana can be reached via the MA-5105 from Nerja and the AP-7 motorway, it is 56 km from Malaga.
