Cala Llonga Ibiza -
A popular resort on the east coast of Ibiza, around 10 kilometres north of Ibiza Town, Cala Llonga was formerly a small fishing and farming community and remained so for many centuries up until the early 1970’s when it developed into a holiday resort. Located in a small bay, surrounded by steep, pine-clad hills Cala Llonga was a refuge for smugglers in the past, no doubt attracted by its isolation and seclusion. The appeal is the same for modern day invaders, in the shape of the thousands of holidaymakers who choose this resort each year.
A small self-contained resort, Cala Llonga is more relaxed and peaceful than many of its Ibiza neighbours, and attracts those seeking a tranquil beach style holiday. Those wanting a bit more life would be advised to head for Ibiza Town where thay can party all night. Santa Eulalia, just 5 kilometres away will also provide a little more in the way of entertainment, while not being quite so rowdy as Ibiza Town, it is an attractive resort which is well worth visiting on its own merits. Most accommodation in the resort is self-catering, a good example is the El Pinar Cala Llonga Aparments.
Perfect for family holidays Cala Llonga’s main attraction is its wonderful sandy beach, one of the largest on Ibiza, offering the usual range of facilities, this is the spot where most visitors spend their holiday time. Also attractive to golfers, Cala Llonga is close to the superb Golf de Ibiza course.
