Yecla is a town and municipality with a population of around 30,000 and is famous for the production of furniture and wine. Yecla's grape growing tradition goes back to Roman times, its furniture industry was started in more recent years. Yecla has a history going back to the Bronze Age and is the site of a ruined 11th Century Arab castle.
