Capital of the Cantabria region of Spain, Santander is a large city with a population of around 180,000, a sizeable port and town even as far back as the times of the Roman Empire (when it was known as Portus Victoriae Iuliobrigensium), Santander has ferry links with Portsmouth.
Santander can be accessed by way of the A-8 and A-67, it has its own International Airport and ferry port.
