Isla Canela Spain - A short drive from the border town of Ayamonte on the Costa de la Luz, Andalucia, the new made for tourism beach resort of Isla Canela is located on an island separated from the mainland by the Guadiana River.

Reached from Ayamonte by way of a bridge, Isla Canela is a popular holiday resort boasting some fantastic beaches and its own golf course.

The main Playa Canela beach stretches for some 7 kilometres and is a particular favourite with Spanish holidaymakers, though now featuring in the brochures of UK tour operators, guaranteeing its growth as a holiday destination.

Isla Canela looks across the Guadiana River to Portugal and enjoys a similar climate to the popular Algarve resorts to the west.

Holidays in Isla Canela are about peace and tranquillity, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and away from the madness of the typical Spanish seaside resorts. This super 18 hole golf course was designed in 1993 by Juan Catarineu, and is set within the nature reserve of Isla Canela, it is a challenging course with gentle slopes formed by natural sand dunes.

Isla Canela can be reached by crossing the river bridge from Ayamonte, which in turn can be reached via the N-431 (A-49/E-1), it is about 40 kilometres from the provincial capital, Huelva.
