This week we will leave Orleans and Saint Joan of Arc and I will take you further north on to the A10 motorway to the north coast and the gateway to the UK. Last week we passed through St Etienne in the Rhone-Alps, on the A72 and I will now take you to Clemont-Ferrand in the region of Auvergne, still at the moment on the A72. In the previous article in this mini series, I had left the main A9 motorway, to take the A54 into Provence and gave you just a quick tour of some of the wonderful Provencal places to visit. With Provence, land of the artists, and never ending clear blue skies, I could write a book as in my opinion it is truly the nicest part of France......Travelling in France

Last week we turned off of the A9 at Nimes and onto the A54, which will take us into region of ‘Provence’ in the South of France. Provence, endless sunshine and skies clearer than almost anywhere in the world and where most of the well know artists through out the last few centuries have produced some of their best works. Provence, picturesque tiny villages perched up on white cliffs. Provence, fields of lavender, sunflowers, poppies, grapevines and olive groves...more.

This week we continue our journey from last week’s edition of the ‘Leader’, which started from the Costa Blanca and concluded at the Spanish Border. The crossing taken at the border on the A7 motorway, just a couple of kilometres from La Jonquera is usually quite a fast transference from Spain into France, although at different times of the year and day this can vary.......... read full article: Travels in France.

Sitting right by the Atlantic Ocean but still close to Mediterranean sea, Portugal has a mild winter and a warm summer with average temperatures during the months of June and July rising to 26C.
