The North Beach has been awarded the blue flag and has 5 miles of golden sand, the smaller south beach is perfect for children. There are excellent tapas bars here too, the streets surrounding the castle are fascinating to wander round, day or night.
The Castellon Region is the second most mountainous in Spain. Just a 50 minute drive inland is the lovely reservoir at La Senia. You can spend a day by its peacful water, hire a pedalo, watch the eagles soar high above the mountain tops then eat at the fabulous barbecue restaurant.
